It describes the bliss you feel when someone else succeeds, even if it doesn’t directly involve you. We're aiming to increase your level of freudenfreude every time you read our newsletter! Let's get started. Last week, we had our data scientist take a crack at the Desert Solstice 24 Hour event to see what the numbers might tell us. In the DFL, we hit mile 55 of a 100-miler with Aid Station Fireball and voting has opened for our annual Keep Trail Running Weird Awards! - Matt Hart THE WEEKEND COOL DOWN Records Fall Camille Herron set a new American record at the 50-mile and 100k distances this weekend at Desert Solstice, on her way to setting the American 100-mile open track record of 13 hours, 2 minutes (📸 1). Not to be outshined, Marisa Lizak won the event outright finishing 156.76 miles in 24-hours (📸 3)! In Zimbabwe, Emily Hawgood won the 56k Sky Run, placing 2nd overall with a new course record time of 8 hours, 13 minutes (📸 2). 🇨🇦 FKT News: Jerry Hughes ran 228.68 miles at Fat Ox Endurance Run to set a new Canadian 48-hour record! Billed as a “competitive ultrarunning track meet” designed for record setting and qualification for the national 24 Hour team — this year's race did not disappoint! Here, Matt breaks down the event and makes some predictions about the athletes to watch along the way. SEE HOW HE DID COMMUNITY Keep Trail Running Weird Contest It's the 2nd Annual Keep Trail Running Weird Awards!!!
