In our Q1 message we shared key goals and a path to reach those goals. In the past quarter we’ve made strong progress.
We have some of the best races in the world (including yours) on UltraSignup, and it’s vital that we transform our platform to improve your experience and the experience of our community.
To help you see the progress we’re making and what’s on the horizon, here are our areas of focus:
The Race Director Experience
We are committed to empowering entrepreneurs like you to succeed in your business and attract more trail runners to your events. To do this effectively, we need to focus on strengthening aspects of our core platform. The feedback you gave in our Q1 survey provided valuable input that continues to inform our emerging roadmap.
Our product and engineering team remains focused on the core roadmap, however we recognize it will take time to fully implement. In the meantime, we will continue to improve our non-platform support for race directors. Helping you market your races remains central to our mission as a marketplace.
Improve the most defining elements of the platform. Improve core features like account management, search, payment processing, registration, and conversion rates.
Authentication & Account Management ✅ (Released June 11, 2025)
Integrating with Auth0 for authentication provides a foundation with world-class protection and confidence for all users. While this change is mostly "behind the scenes", it provides us with significant freedom to create more flexible, powerful, and innovative solutions.
Payment Processor (In Progress)
Now that our new authentication is in place, we’re implementing Adyen, an industry-leading payment processor. With Adyen we’ll be able to introduce new payment-related options and features many of you have requested. We’ll evaluate and prioritize next steps once Adyen is implemented.
Event Discovery (Planning Phase)
Improve a runner’s ability to find your races, discover reasons they should register, and connect with the community.
Build a Strong Team
We have added some new faces, making our team more capable than ever. We are committed to building the future of UltraSignup. Meet our newest team members.
Jase Miller, Product
We’re excited to welcome Jase to our team. He’s a poet, product manager, and trail runner based in the Chicago area. Jase brings design and product experience from diverse organizations—non-profit, tech startups, and high-growth companies focused on community, cybersecurity, privacy, and AI. He’s passionate about building technology that connects people, encourage health, and promote the wonder of nature.
Andreas Ford, Member Operations
Andreas Ford is a fantastic addition to the team—and a lucky break for us. Based in the Bay Area, he brings a great attitude, hustle, and years of industry experience. We were able to scoop him up from AllTrails, and he’ll be transitioning into a tech support role. A promising new hire we’re truly excited to have on board. Many of you RDs will likely cross paths with Andreas in the near future.
Deliver Value through Data, Marketing, and Partnerships
We offer a range of marketing tools and data analytics to help promote your races. This year, we're developing additional marketing capabilities and enhanced data insights about runner registration patterns to better support your business decisions.
Headsweats, our preferred partner for race apparel, offers premium rates to UltraSignup race directors—and throughout June, they're offering free graphic design services with your purchase of race shirts. In recent Headsweats updates, the contact email was incorrect. Please reach out to Matt at mloranger@headsweats.com if you have not received a reply to your email. Our team continues to seek similar partnerships to support your business.
Prioritizing The Work
We’re prioritizing the many opportunities ahead of us, starting with improvements that address core platform issues. Your feedback will remain extremely valuable to us so we can create change where you need it most. Please use the UltraSignup help site to reach out at any time and request or vote for new platform features.
